Gangs
Living in Chicago, a lot of us know theres a very violent underworld that sometimes spills over into our everyday lives. Its no secret, that many gangs and mobsters originate here. But gangs and criminal organizations have expanded all over the globe. Although living in city with high gang notoriety, Ive notice a lot of times people are stereotyped based of their appearance. Even though alot of the real gangsters arent even on the street,many of them are in government . This made me want to ask, what does a gangster or gang banger really look like?

Man..Chicago is infested with "Wanna-Be" Gangsters. Things like that make me not want to live in chicago because to some its personal like myself. My father is a member of the BPSN or Bloods. He until just recently got back into my life, but its still disturbing that that influence is around me, and my siblings. To answer your question though. Gangsters can be anyone. It can be the person who looks the lamest in your classroom or the guy that is extremely nice and generous. Looks can be deceiving so watch out.
ReplyDeleteWell I would say everyone would think of a sterotypical person when they think of a gang banger. Someone with very baggy clothes and looks kind of shady and uses alot of slang. Most of the time people picture young teenagers and mostly minorites as well. I think the relaty is what I described probably fits millions of people that have nothing at all to do with gangs. My describition probably discribes people in this school and maybe even this class. A gang banger could be anyone and look like anyone. For some reason my describition is burned in alot of peoples minds.
ReplyDeleteMost gangs that i know is on the street but there not high rank more like the send off person if you ask me i think a gang banger really looks like a regular person nothing more nothing least unleast they try and stunt they just get there money in a different way
ReplyDeleteMan, Kristin probly carrying a pistol lbs. You dont know and there really isnt a clear cut way of finding out. Well I guess you could ask, but as far as making an inference based off what you see is a charactereristic that could prohibit you in ways under the surface. As far as I'm concerned its not that, but why. & how those organizations manifested and continue to manifest I think that people should fixate on the background, not so much on threads.
ReplyDeleteA gangster have no look about them. Simply a gangster handles business by any means trying not to cause so many problems. Were as a thug is the one that is trying to impress the gangster or mimic a gangsters activity. Through this, thugs tend to try to look tough or carry themselves in a manor, to make people scared of them or think of them to be a hardcore person. A gangsters can be a man in a business suit, a person in street clothes or generally anyone that may look like you. If a gangster is a gangster, you will never know. The gangster stay away from the activity. The gangster uses thugs to get the work done for them. Gangsters simply have no specific look.
ReplyDeleteWell i suppose every gang has a different look. For street gangs, the gang members i think are dress in causal cloths and usually have a gang "color" scheme that the abide by. some people would say some politicization are gangsters because what they are doing is organized crime such as the recent problem we had with government bailout and companies claiming they needed a bailout but really people were just getting huge pay raises and going on vacations.
ReplyDeleteGangsters come in many shades & disguises. So in a way we really cant stereotype people anymore. Based on research, theres been people in congress whose commited far mor worst crimes than any street gang member could even dream of. I have friends who are active gang members and I have friends who have lived that life and now are trying to reform. But they all deal with the same situations of getting stereotyped.
ReplyDeletei personally think that a gang banger is a person who is affliated with a gang. their apperance can range from anything because times have changed. anybody who represents a gang is known as a gang banger in my eyes.
ReplyDeleteI sometimes don't matter how thay look like it depands on the persons character and the way thay act in public. If they don't care for others but themselfs and they always have a bad additude or intentions then thats what really shows how the bad do in or out of public. If I had to explain what they look like then I would say dirty depending how with new ugly clothes that most people don't like. It also depends what gang there in of what type of colors they would were everyday.
